Merrell Lane

The Merrell Lane Memorial Aviation Scholarship was established in memory of Merrell Lane, co-founder and the first Chairman of the Niagara Military Affairs Council (NIMAC). Each year NIMAC awards a $1500 scholarship to a well deserving enlisted member assigned to the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station who has shown an interest in the aviation field.

To be eligible for consideration, applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Age 18 - 30

Enlisted member currently assigned to the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station

Member is enrolled in an accredited private pilot licensing program OR enrolled in an aviation related curriculum at an accredited College/University.

To apply, mail your application along with the following:

Typed, one page essay on the subject "Why I Have an Interest in Aviation”. Include in this essay any experience you have had in the aviation community and your future plans as they relate to aviation.

Note: If you are enrolled in an accredited private pilot licensing program, you must have soloed from a flight school and have a log book endrosement.
